Before the registry, before the thunder, before heaven had an administration or the sea had a name: the Daodejing says the nameless is the beginning of heaven and earth. It is not shown — an uncarved block, an empty circle, a brush that never touched paper. Four names were never written down. This is the reason. This is never explained.
