“The vault lamps blinked in threes last night. The Firefly swears it wasn't him.”
Something in the Carapace vaults is learning to communicate — and it knows counting.
“Every creature ascends. Nothing stays what it was.”
In the beginning the world was a single chrysalis — the First Pupa — hanging in a void that had never known hunger. When it split, the event was called the Great Molt, and its cast-off shell became the sky. Everything alive since has carried the same law in its blood: grow, harden, split, emerge greater.
The realm is a garden the size of a world, and everything in it is mid-metamorphosis. Ironbark trees shed armor instead of leaves. The rivers run with amber sap that hardens into memory. At the Garden’s heart stands the Husk Cathedral — the split shell of the First Pupa, large as a mountain range. The four Great Houses hold its four gates, and none trusts the other three.
Here, rarity is not scarcity. It is ascension — how far a creature has molted. And every creature here is built from a real superpower: nothing invented, because Earth’s insects were born with powers stranger than any story.
Indifferent and endless — and the Garden itself may be its latest shed skin. The houses have agreed to disagree about everything else. About this, they have agreed to say nothing at all.
the Jewel Wardens
Beetles. The armored nobility. They hold the Iron Gate and the vaults beneath the Husk Cathedral, where light itself is kept in buprestid-lined coffers.
Explore the house →the Silk Phantoms
Moths and butterflies. The night scribes and seers. They read the future in wing scales and write it in silk that dissolves by dawn.
Explore the house →the Thorn Courtiers
Mimics and hunters. The hidden court. Duelists, spies, and assassins who win by being something else.
Explore the house →the Volt Stingers
Wasps, bees, flies, ants. The storm guard. Executioners of the Garden, sworn to strike once and never need twice.
Explore the house →beyond the Final Instar
The few who molted past the Final Instar — legends that kept ascending when legends were supposed to stop.
Explore the house →two bloodlines, one molt
Cross-house hybrids. Two real bloodlines braided into a single impossible molt — inheriting, never inventing.
Explore the house →the first sheddings
The first things the Last Instar ever shed. Older than the Husk Cathedral. The houses refuse to say what Instar Zero is.
Explore the house →1 of 1 · never for sale
It reached the Final Instar — and kept molting. Every molt births a new species into the Garden. Not for sale at any price.

“A moonlit scale was found in the cathedral refuse. The Dung Beetle hasn't slept since.”
Someone important was inside the Husk Cathedral unseen — and left a piece of themselves.
“The moon-queen's wings wrote the same sentence three nights running. The scribes won't copy it.”
The moon is trying to say something too dangerous to transcribe.
“The wheel turns at night with no prisoner scheduled. The Wheel Bug oils it anyway.”
House Bramble's execution wheel is practicing — or being practiced on.
He doesn’t belong to the Molten Garden — he belongs to the spaces between worlds. But he walks here all the same, slow and curious, listening to the hum beneath the leaves. He’ll keep you company while you look around. He never sells anything. He only points.
“The old ones say: do not look where you fell, but where you slipped. Pick the world that pulls at you, not the brightest one — gravity is honest; shine is just weather.”
