The story so far
Megatherium americanum: the giant ground sloth, elephant-sized, that stood on its hind legs and tail — a tripod — to pull down trees with claws like sickles. Groundking has the slowest temper in the Undertow and the longest view. When Steppeking's grief fills the hall, Groundking simply... waits. He has out-waited ice ages. He tells the young ones: 'The trees come back. They always come back. I have seen it.' He is the only one Steppeking will let finish that sentence.
