The story so far
He was a construction foreman, and now the iron is in his bones — literally. Rebar bends girders back into shape, ties failed rebar with his bare hands, and once held a crane upright through a gale. He still does site inspections. The sites are much safer now.
Happening now
The Meridian drydock frame is leaning wrong and Rebar is up in the steel with the Dawnforge crews, bending the keel true by hand while Skyhammer holds it. The two of them work in comfortable silence. The steel sings a little when he bends it. He says that's normal.
What may come
Timika has offered him a place at her forge — to learn hard-light the way he learned iron. Rebar keeps turning the offer over like a good beam, checking it for stress. He'll say yes. Everyone knows he'll say yes.
