The living story
The story so far
Hector held Troy's walls for ten years knowing prophecy said they would fall. He killed Patroclus in Achilles's armor, then faced Achilles himself outside the gates — and ran, and turned, and died like a man.
Happening now
Priam ransomed his body, and Troy buried him with full honors. In the underworld's hero quarter he walks with the other decent dead, which is the best company.
What may come
His son Astyanax was thrown from the walls; his wife Andromache enslaved. The songs remember the family Troy cost — that is Hector's real monument.
