A Silence legend of The Witness
2 known connections · an open question
Before Chaos cracked the Silence, the Witness was there — not as a god, not as a thing, but as attention itself. It watched Gaia rise, the Titans fall, the Olympians quarrel, and the heroes die, and it has never once intervened.
It watches still, from the space between verses. Bards who press too close to the First Silence report a feeling of being listened to — kindly, completely, and without answer.
When the last song is sung and forgotten, the Witness will remain, remembering that there was something to remember. That is its whole eternity, and it has never complained.

The Witness never speaks. It only remembers.
Older than the gods. It watched the first silence and has kept it ever since. It is not a prize. It is the reason for prizes.
