Prickle sheds his tail skin to escape predators — the old desert trick — and grows it back with opinions. The new tail is always slightly more dramatic than the old one: longer tuft, bolder stripe, more attitude. He is on his ninth tail. The ninth tail is, by general agreement, his best work.
