The story so far
Dewdasher was born at the pond's edge and took one look at the water and said: that is not a barrier, that is a highway. She skates across the surface, dives beneath it, and catches prey like a tiny feathered torpedo. She insists she is not showing off. She is showing off.
Happening now
She is currently standing on the pond's surface — on it, like it is a floor — watching a tadpole with professional interest. The tadpole has no idea. Dewdasher likes it that way.
What may come
When the pond freezes she will overwinter in the bankside thatch, dreaming of open water. First thaw, first ripple — she will be back on the surface before the ice is fully gone.
