The living story
The story so far
Sefu was the fastest infant anyone had seen — outrunning juveniles twice his age by his first dry season. The troops did the obvious thing: they gave him everyone's news to carry.
Happening now
He has never lost a message, never been late with a warning, never once mixed up whose news was whose. His memory for words matches his feet.
What may come
He is teaching two young patas the routes. They are fast. They are not Sefu. He tells them this kindly, while outrunning them.

The Old World
The monkeys of Africa and Asia: baboons with opinions, mandrills wearing the sunrise on their faces, macaques who have learned every human trick worth stealing. Old troops, old grudges, older grooming debts.
