The story so far
Pudding has weighed ninety pounds since she was eleven months old and has believed, with total sincerity, that she is a lapdog for exactly as long. She has ended three household arguments by simply sitting on the arguers. All three arguers later admitted the floor was comfortable and the point was moot.
Happening now
The mail has been deemed truly suspicious twice this week, and Pudding's bark — which sounds like furniture falling down a staircase — has been deployed accordingly. The mail carrier now leaves treats as tribute. Pudding accepts tribute. This changes nothing about the barking.
What may come
Pudding is growing into her paws the way a glacier grows into a valley: slowly, and with total confidence the landscape will adjust. One day she will sit on something important — a wedding cake, a tax audit — and history will be made.
