The living story
The story so far
He earned the throne the slow way: 3,200 kalpas of cultivation, merit stacked on merit until heaven ran out of promotions to deny him. His cult rose to supremacy in the Song dynasty, and the Daoist canon keeps the receipts. Nobody out-waits the throne, because the throne is patience with a seal.
Happening now
He is reading memorials. Every thunderbolt in the cosmos needs his signature, every promotion takes a kalpa, and the stack on his desk has never once gotten shorter. He has never lost his temper. That is not kindness. That is seniority.
What may come
The ledgers grow longer every year, and the clerks whisper that one day the last memorial will arrive — the one that needs no answer. On that day, they say, he will finally close the desk drawer. The clerks do not believe it. He does not correct them.
