The living story
The story so far
She keeps the Peaches of Immortality in her orchard at Mount Kunlun, and every few thousand years she throws the Pantao Hui — the Peach Banquet — where one bite buys you three thousand years and the guest list is the registry of the immortals itself. The oldest tellings give her a leopard's tail and tiger's teeth; the newer ones give her jade-pendant grace. Either way, do not arrive late.
Happening now
She is walking the orchard tonight, counting peaches the way other rulers count soldiers. The next banquet is centuries off, and the trees are already being difficult about it.
What may come
When the last peach ripens and the last guest arrives, the banquet will be the one the Classic only hints at — the one where she finally eats with everyone instead of above them. The orchard has been saving a particular peach for that night. It has been saving it for a very long time.
