The story so far
She hatched out of the hour between — between the catbird's evening scold and the ape's first dream. Catbird taught her to borrow voices from deep cover; Old Siva taught her to see the whole family coming in a dream and wake up smiling. Mewseer did both at once, on the same dawn, and the keepers have been listening ever since.
Happening now
Every sunset she settles where the mist gathers, closes her amber eyes, and sleeps standing up. Then, hours later, she wakes and tells the dream — but it arrives in somebody else's voice: a neighbor's worry, a stranger's laugh, a dog she once fooled. She has never once told a dream in her own voice. Nobody has heard her own voice. Some keepers suspect she is saving it for something.
What may come
Old Siva saw every ape coming in a dream; Mewseer has begun seeing sparks that do not exist yet — strangers from galaxies she has never visited, wearing faces nobody has drawn. She narrates them in voices she has never borrowed. The keepers are writing these down now, one by one, in case any of them turn out to be true.
