Every winter the icicles grow on his horns, and every winter he rattles them into the same perfect melody — the one his grandmother hummed. He has tried to vary it. The horns won't allow it. Last winter Aurora improvised the lights in his key, and for one evening the whole glacier was in tune. He rattled for an hour. It was applause.
