The living story
The story so far
She was forty stories up, washing the Meridian windows, when the Ringing came and the sky simply opened for her. Skyborn has never come down since — not really. The Skybreakers say she's still up there, riding the lanes between the old fire-towers, and that the only time she ever touches ground is to do her old building's windows, free, once a month.
Happening now
A scaffold crew on the Foundry span lost their lines this morning, and Skyborn was already underneath before the foreman's whistle died. She caught all three, set them on the north deck, and waved off the applause. She hums up there, the other Skybreakers say, and you can hear it if the wind is right.
What may come
Cloudline is teaching her cloud-stairs, of all things — Skyborn wants a staircase that follows her forever, so she never has to be asked to land. The engineers at Dawnforge have already volunteered the light-work. If it works, the sky-lanes will get their first permanent resident.
