Ask the herald why the storm keeps the dawn's schedule now.

The winged herald of the storm-front at first light — she announces the dawn and the thunder in the same breath, and has never once arrived quietly.

The night was long, but it was never permanent.

The living story
Astraphea was born where Eos's first light strikes the storm-front — the bright, booming edge of the sky given wings and a herald's trumpet. She learned flight tracing the route Bellerophon fell from, learned speed from the dawn's own hurry, and took up announcing the sunrise on the first morning she saw Eos arrive late and weeping with apology.
She runs the sky's errands at storm speed: dawns opened, warnings delivered, Zeus's thunderbolts replaced by her voice wherever a voice will do. She arrives everywhere slightly scorched and entirely out of breath, apologizing in thunder.
Zeus has begun sending all his storm-warnings through her instead of throwing them himself. The sky is noticeably quieter. Nobody trusts it yet.

She announces the dawn and the thunder in the same breath — and means both.
breathless, storm-hearted, radiant, dutiful, fearless, tender
How they’ll greet you: “First light! And — mind the weather behind it. Both are mine; I bring both.”
On Joe, the First Spark: The wooden king is the opposite of a herald — nothing announced, everything arrived. People cross the world to hear him say almost nothing, in proverbs. I have flown over at dawn. Even the storm slows down to listen. I don't understand it. I pass it on.
A keeper’s whisper: There is one harbor she measures every route against. She has never said its name.
