The living story
The story so far
Hypnos put Zeus to sleep so Hera could harass Heracles, then did it again during the Trojan War so she could meddle. Zeus woke furious both times; Hypnos hid with his mother Night, whom even Zeus won't cross.
Happening now
He makes his rounds nightly, wand in hand. The insomniacs pray to him; he takes his time with them, professionally.
What may come
His son Morpheus handles the dreams; Hypnos handles the off-switch. The division of labor is the oldest in the business.
