The story so far
Oedipus fled Corinth to escape killing his father, killed a stranger at a crossroads (his father), solved the Sphinx's riddle, married the widowed queen (his mother), and when the truth came out, blinded himself.
Happening now
He died at Colonus, under Athena's protection, and his grave guards Athens — the blind king's last gift to the city that sheltered him.
What may come
The Sphinx's riddle was 'man.' Oedipus answered it and never understood it was about him. The songs are still explaining.
