The story so far
Penelope promised the suitors she would choose when she finished Laertes's shroud, then unwove it nightly for three years. When Odysseus returned disguised, she tested him with their bed — and knew.
Happening now
She rules Ithaca beside Odysseus, older and unimpressed by heroes. The suitors' ghosts complain in the underworld; she doesn't listen.

Telemachus is grown and the house is quiet. Penelope has started teaching the island's girls to weave — and to unweave, which is the more important lesson.
