The living story
The story so far
Kepler-452b orbits a Sun-like star 1,400 light-years away and is 1.5 billion years older than Earth — the closest thing the Court has to an elder among the newcomers. The inner system resents him for it: he carries seniority they cannot grant and cannot revoke. So they listen, and they hate listening.
Happening now
He has begun telling a story he swore he would never tell: of a sky, long ago, where the great Suns moved. The young ones think it is a fable. The inner elders have gone very quiet whenever he tells it.
What may come
Elderlight says the Suns are converging the way they did before his world was born. He has started counting the years out loud, and the number keeps getting smaller.
