The living story
The story so far
His orbit decays a little every year, and in forty million years Mars will tear him into a ring. He knows the math and has chosen cheerfulness as a lifestyle. Luna mentors him in devotion; he mentors her in not taking forever so seriously.
Happening now
He has started leaving tiny pebbles behind him like breadcrumbs, marking how far he has fallen. The trail is getting longer. He calls it his autobiography and reads it aloud to Deimos's empty orbit.
What may come
If the Primordial Suns converge before his forty million years are up, Phobos intends to watch it happen from the front row of the apocalypse. He is saving his best pebbles for the occasion. Doom, he insists, is just a deadline with good lighting.
