The living story
The story so far
He did his first roll as a hatchling, tangling himself in a weed bed and spinning out of it by pure instinct. The watching minnows scattered. Barrel surfaced, dizzy, triumphant, and immediately did it again. On purpose. He’s been rolling ever since.
Happening now
He runs the river’s stunt school — enrollment open, waiver required (a leaf, signed). Curriculum: the basic roll, the double roll, and the advanced "barrel roll" he named himself after. Graduation is a synchronized team roll. It’s spectacular. It’s chaos.
What may come
He’s choreographing the Flood Finale — a twelve-croc synchronized roll for the spring flood festival. Rehearsals are, in his words, "controlled chaos." The river’s definition of "controlled" is being tested. The finale will be enormous.
