The story so far
She hatched in a ditch that everyone else overlooked, which is exactly why she loves it — overlooked places, she says, are where the best company gathers. The ditch is now the marsh’s social capital.
Happening now
She runs the tadpole graduation every spring: tiny caps, tiny speeches, enormous pride. Three generations of frogs owe their confidence to her.
What may come
She has started a rumor that she is secretly a very slow ribbon eel. Nobody believes her. Everybody plays along. That, she says, is what community means.
