He hatched during a thunderstorm, and his first color was lightning-white — a shade no chameleon is supposed to wear. The elders called it an omen. Prism called it "Tuesday." He has been redefining expectations ever since.
Happening now
He works as the canopy’s emotional barometer: glance at Prism, know the forest’s mood. During the great hawk scare he went grey for a week, and the whole canopy braced. When he bloomed turquoise again, everyone exhaled.
What may come
He is learning to hold a color steady — "for diplomacy," he says. He can currently hold calm-turquoise for eleven minutes. His personal best is the pride of the branch.
