The story so far
She took seven years to grow up while every other tarantula in the Court raced ahead. Brazilblack spent the whole time polishing her jet-black armor and cultivating an air of someone who has never once checked a clock.
Happening now
She is holding court in the warmest burrow, saying very little and meaning all of it. The younger tarantulas have started imitating her stillness, badly.
What may come
When the next generation of the Court asks who taught them that slow is strong, they will point to Brazilblack — and she will accept the compliment the way she accepts everything: after a long, cool pause.
