The living story
The story so far
She grew up in a pine forest knowing she was the largest jumper in North America, and she has carried that fact the way royalty carries a crown — effortlessly, and at all times. Regius never had an awkward phase.
Happening now
She is perched on a palmetto frond, her jade-green chelicerae catching the light like polished stones. A photographer has been trying to capture her for an hour. She keeps turning to face the lens, which is ruining nothing.
What may come
She will build a silk retreat in a folded leaf and raise a court of tiny hunters. Somewhere, a child will meet her grandchildren and decide spiders are royalty. The child will be correct.

The Jumpers
Eight eyes forward, zero fear. The jumping spiders wave at large animals, dance for love, and solve problems the web-weavers never think of. The peacock spiders are undefeated.
