The living story
The story so far
She hatched under a curl of bark and learned before her eyes fully opened that flat is a lifestyle. Tanja has spent her life pressed to tree trunks, invisible as a rumor of shadow, moving only in the blink between blinks.
Happening now
Right now she is hunting a sunlit oak, freezing between steps so perfectly that the bark itself seems to be playing tricks. A beetle is learning that stillness can be the fastest thing alive.
What may come
Winter will drive her deep into a bark crevice, and she will dream of spring in the slow spider way. When the first warm rain comes, she will walk out of the tree like it was never hiding her at all.
