The story so far
Wasp hatched striped like a warning and has never once felt the need to explain herself. She writes a bold white zigzag into the center of her web — her signature, in silk — and dares anyone to forge it. They cannot. The zigzag is patented by audacity.
Happening now
She is finishing today's signature: a perfect lightning-bolt stabilimentum, white as chalk, dead center. A wasp (the actual insect) just landed nearby and did a double take. Wasp the spider waved a leg. Professional courtesy.
What may come
Her kind's zigzag has puzzled scientists for a century — camouflage? warning? art? Wasp knows the answer and is not telling. When she goes, the answer goes with her, and honestly, that is the most on-brand thing possible.
