The story so far
Doedicurus clavicaudatus settled its arguments the direct way: with a spiked club on the end of its tail, swung in full armor. The fossil record shows the dents. Clubtail has kept the club and civilized the argument: in the Undertow he is the Long Winter's master of the duel-yard, where disputes are settled by ceremony — forms, salutes, controlled passes, never contact (house rule three, and his own stricter code). He has refereed ten thousand duels. He has never lost his temper. The club has never touched anyone. That, he says, is the whole point.
