Lodoice

For centuries, sailors found Lodoice's seeds on distant beaches and invented an explanation: they must grow on a mythical tree beneath the sea. The coco de mer — the largest seed on Earth, a great double-lobed giant weighing as much as a child — washed up where no such tree grew, and the mystery held until the Seychelles were charted. She lets the old story stand alongside the true one, the way she lets the sea do half her traveling. "A seed that crosses an ocean," she says, "earns its legends." Her palm is slow majesty — enormous fan leaves, a trunk like a column — and she fruits with geological patience, one giant seed at a time. The Wanderers, who claim no territory, claim her as their proof of concept: home is not a place. Home is wherever the current sets you down, and you grow.
