The story so far
The boto gets the legends — the pink prince, the trickster, the songs. The tucuxi gets the work: smaller, greyer, faster, schooling in the same rivers with none of the mythology and all of the competence. Little Grey has made peace with it, mostly. In the Whitewater Drift she runs the quick missions — the urgent ferries, the fast news, the rescues — while Encantado gets the ballads. She teases him about it. He pretends not to hear. The Drift knows exactly who holds the river together.
