The story so far
Raka has built over four thousand nests and slept in none twice. The canopy behind her is a trail of abandoned architecture — and every one of them is occupied: by birds, by tiny ones, by whoever needed a roof.
Happening now
She is teaching Pip's younger sister the weave. The student keeps wanting to re-sleep her best ones. Raka keeps saying no, gently, every time.
What may come
The keepers of the Fossil Record have asked to study her oldest nests. She said yes, on one condition: they sleep in them first.
