The story so far
Tumo inherited the troop the ordinary way: he outlasted everyone louder. Twenty years of mornings, and the young challengers all learned the same lesson — you cannot out-stare an ape who finds the whole thing faintly funny.
Happening now
He has taken to napping in the middle of arguments. It works so well the other troops are sending observers to study the technique.
What may come
One day a challenger will come who is not amused by the nap. Tumo is, privately, a little curious about that day.
