The living story
The story so far
Noodle is twelve inches of dog, eleven of them attitude, and the twelfth is a nose. He was bred to fight badgers in tunnels and he has never forgotten it, which is why the vacuum cleaner lives in fear and the blankets of this house are burrowed nightly like it's a paid profession. It is not paid. He does it for the craft.
Happening now
He has declared war on a particular couch cushion and is currently tunneling through it in slow, deliberate campaigns. The family has given up the cushion. Noodle considers this a negotiated settlement. He is already eyeing the ottoman.
What may come
Someday Noodle will meet an actual badger, and the badger — sensing eleven inches of pure conviction — will simply leave. The tunnels will remain. The legend will grow. The blankets will never be safe.
