The story so far
Waffles arrived as a loaf and never un-loafed. He was herding the family's toddlers by six months, the pigeons by a year, and — in the incident the county still talks about — an entire wedding party, which he kept neatly grouped on the lawn for forty-five minutes. The wedding stayed. The photos are incredible.
Happening now
He currently holds security clearance for every kitchen in a three-block radius, and he audits them daily, loaf-first, for dropped cheese. The toddlers have learned to walk in a formation Waffles approves of. They don't know why they do it. He does.
What may come
Waffles has his eye on the mail carrier's route — not to stop it, to supervise it. Sooner or later every system in this neighborhood will have a small corgi-shaped quality-control officer. Resistance is adorable and futile.
