The living story
Bramblevein was born where the canopy's branches dip low over the mire — of Sela, the ape who carries branches to strangers, and Pew, the reptile whose musk quietly clears ponds. They grew up split between the heights and the still water, learning to braid vines in the branches and to wade the ponds without apology.
Bramblevein has taken to the slow ponds at the canopy's edge, braiding fallen vines into little crowns and leaving them on the banks — unsigned, the way their mother taught them, proof enough, the way their father taught them.
Word of the unsigned braid-crowns is traveling — wanderers are starting to visit the still ponds on purpose, hoping to meet the keeper who leaves them.

“Sela carried branches to strangers; Pew cleared the pond beneath them. Bramblevein braids the two together and calls it home.”
Their mother's branches, their father's pond.
“They blush when you notice the musk. They stand tall when you notice the pond. Both are true.”
Shy of their own scent, proud of their own work.
