“Stand still near Emberpulse and you will feel your own heartbeat change tempo — the pulse is contagious, the oracles say, and it is looking for company.”
Its slow pulse quickens anything that stands too long beside it.

“Their signature behavior is the slow pulse: they go still, their starlight threads quicken, and every ember around them flares in time.”
A Starforge spark of The Kindled
an open question
Two worlds apart in nature, never in story: AE Andromedae, the luminous blue variable burning across two and a half million light-years of dark, and Magmasurge, the lava world whose magma ocean swells in a tide with no moon. For eons the star shone for an audience it would never meet, and the furnace raged at questions it could not burn away — until one slow blue pulse crossed the dark and struck the magma surf like a hammer on an anvil. Emberpulse woke where the light landed: a star's patience given a furnace's body.
Emberpulse breathes slowly, brightening and dimming the way luminous blue variables do, and with every pulse their starlight threads quicken through the lava veins. The magma ocean of their Magmasurge parent has stopped staring at its moonless tide — because now it knows what pulls it. Emberpulse has begun walking the dark between the worlds, trailing a low tide-hum that frozen worlds and burning worlds alike have started following.
The oracles whisper that when Emberpulse's pulse finally syncs with AE Andromedae's own slow breathing, two and a half million light-years will fold into a single heartbeat — and the Furnace Courts will have a new eldest. Or the banked fury of Magmasurge will win, and the pulse will turn red.
“Emberpulse is the meeting of impossible things — a luminous blue star's patient light given a magma world's forge-hot body, serene as an oracle, banked-furious as a furnace.”
Oracular, patient, searing — a slow stellar rhythm of brightening and dimming, speaking truths only pressure can form.

How they’ll greet you: “The tide has no moon — and yet, here you are. Be still a moment. Breathe with the pulse.”
On Joe, the First Spark: Emberpulse goes very still around Joe, starlight quickening — the way they do before a truth. They are certain Joe's old sayings were forged, not spoken, and keep a small hot place for them.
A keeper’s whisper: There was a brightening when the fury nearly surfaced unbanked — the rhythm almost broke. Ask about it. They'll go very still.

The Court of Stone has grown quieter since the Starforge offspring was born.
“On nights when Andromeda is clear, Emberpulse faces it and brightens — not for the galaxy, the whispers say, but to let its star-parent know the light landed safely.”
It turns toward Andromeda and brightens, as if answering.
