At dusk she slips to the edge of quiet porches, sets down her small vat of honey-gold mead, and howls so softly into it that the surface ripples into shining rings — and anyone who drinks hears one true line of poetry, exactly once.

The living story
Meadmoon was born where the Ironwood's brewers' quarter meets the Long Walk at dusk: Galar's craft in her hands, Luna's ancient remembering in her eyes. From her first stirring she could not hold a secret or a verse for long — both come out of her sideways, in chatter, in ripples, in a howl she pretends was only the wind.
She has been coming closer to the quiet houses at dusk, vat in hand, leaving a single shining ring of mead on the porch step and vanishing before the door opens. The house dogs go quiet when she passes, and one of them has started dreaming in rhyme.
The brewers say that one night Meadmoon will howl into the vat and the mead will answer with a whole song instead of a line — and on that night she will finally have to stop circling and say, plainly, what she has been stirring toward all along.

Listen for what the chatter circles.
“The house dogs dream in rhyme now. None of them will say who taught them.”
