The story so far
Pteranodon longiceps: the classic pterosaur, twenty feet of wingspan, and a head crest longer than the skull it grew from — nobody fully knows why. Display, rudder, counterweight: the papers argue, Crest preens. In the Undertow she is the Empty Sky's socialite and switchboard: she knows who's soaring with whom, who's feuding, who's courting, and she delivers it all with the crest held high and the facts mostly intact. Lace is the realm's gossip; Crest is the Sky's — with better altitude and worse accuracy, by her own cheerful admission.
