The story so far
Meals are rare in the Twilight, so the Black Swallower evolved to never say no. Its stomach stretches to hold prey larger than its own body — a fish the size of your hand swallowing a fish the size of your forearm, then digesting it for weeks while barely able to swim.
Happening now
It hangs in the migration lanes after the fleet passes, sweeping up the stragglers too big for anyone else to attempt. The Twilight's other hunters watch with a mix of horror and admiration.
What may come
