The story so far
Jupiter squeezes her with tides and she erupts — four hundred volcanoes, endless sulfur, no apologies. She has been the system's angriest moon since the beginning and sees no reason to change. Europa's calm infuriates her more than anything else in orbit.
Happening now
Her plumes are rising higher than ever recorded, as if the tides squeezing her have grown stronger. She swears she can feel something pulling from farther away than Jupiter. It makes her angrier, which makes her erupt more, which she considers a fine arrangement.
What may come
If the Primordial Suns converge, Io plans to meet them erupting — her sulfur against their fire, a statement. She is saving one volcano, unnamed, for whatever comes out of the dark. She has never told anyone which one.
