The living story

The story so far

Oldest sprinter of the inner system, Sunsplit earned her place by surviving the most violent temperature swing of any known world. The elders respect her speed but never let her sit at the high table — too small, too close to the Sun, too quick to be trusted. She stopped asking for a seat centuries ago.

Happening now

She has started timing her sprints against something new: a faint brightening deep in the dark between stars. No one else will admit they see it. Sunsplit says the dark side has never felt this restless, and she would know.

What may come

If the brightening she watches turns out to be what the old stories whisper — the Primordial Suns stirring toward each other — Sunsplit will be the first to reach it. Whether she runs toward it or away from it, nobody can say.
