The story so far
Borisov was found in 2019 as the first interstellar comet — the second visitor from another star after 'Oumuamua. Its coma glowed with carbon monoxide, richer than any local comet's, and it came, it blazed, and its orbit will never bring it back.
Happening now
It is already outbound, its blue-green coma fading as it leaves the Sun's warmth behind. The Wanderers gave it a proper send-off this time, with tail-ribbons, and it seemed genuinely touched, in the way comets can be.
What may come
It will wander the galaxy for eons, a snowball from a dead star system. Perhaps another world's telescopes will catch it someday, and the Wanderers have left a marker in its honor: here passed a stranger who belonged everywhere.
