The living story
The story so far
He was stolen from the Kuiper Belt and forced into a backward orbit, and he has held the grudge beautifully ever since. Voyager 2 caught his geysers in 1989 and he considers that his one good portrait. He dances for Neptune; his heart never left the dark he came from.
Happening now
His geysers have been venting harder this season, and the plumes lean toward the outer dark like plants toward light. He tells himself it is only the nitrogen sublimation cycle. He has started sleeping facing away from Neptune, which the others have noticed.
What may come
If the Primordial Suns are converging on something in the dark, Triton may be the only one who recognizes the neighborhood. He is deciding whether to run home or to warn the court. Both options terrify him; he is leaning toward a third.
