She grew up in Skimmer’s shadow — same rivers, similar snout, forever "the other one" — and decided early that she’d be the best alternative gharial who ever lived. She succeeded so thoroughly that young gharials now ask to be like her.
She specializes in the big fish Skimmer’s needle-snouts can’t handle — the lunkers, the fighters, the ones with opinions. "Different snout, different supper," she says. The river’s large-fish population respects her enormously. From a distance.
She is writing the definitive snout memoir: "False? A Reconsideration." It covers taxonomy, dignity, and the perfect fish-grab. Skimmer wrote the foreword. It reads, in full: "She’s right." Sales are strong.
