The story so far
She found her vine as a juvenile and made a decision most snakes never make: to stay. While others roamed, Twig perfected stillness — until her stillness became so complete that the forest started treating her as furniture. She considers this enlightenment.
Happening now
The two bird families who nested on her still visit every spring. She pretends to be annoyed. She has named all the chicks. She remembers every name.
What may come
She is writing — very slowly, one tongue-flick at a time — a treatise on minimalism. Jade the boa calls it "a pamphlet." Twig calls Jade’s branch "a warehouse." They are best enemies.
