Cob is the biggest squirrel in the Canopy and the gentlest. The little ones eat first — always — and then Cob eats second, which given his size is a genuine sacrifice. He has never once complained. Once, during the lean winter, he pretended he wasn't hungry for a week. Nobody believed him. Everybody loved him for it.
