The tide just went out and Beachcomber is working the wrack line, flipping bits of seaweed with her front legs like a detective with a very small badge. A sand flea just broke cover. This is the part of the morning she lives for.
What may come
Storms will rearrange her whole beat, and Beachcomber will read the new sand like a fresh edition. The seagull list, however, is permanent. Some grudges are load-bearing.
