The living story
The story so far
Orchard hatched under an apple leaf and has been weaving low over the orchard paths ever since, silver-green as a wet leaf and twice as lovely. She hums while she works. Nobody has ever heard the tune twice, which is either magic or forgetfulness, and she will not clarify.
Happening now
She is stringing her orb between two low branches, humming something in a minor key that the bees seem to like. A falling apple missed her web by a hand's width. Orchard did not flinch. She has insurance.
What may come
When the harvest comes and the ladders go up, Orchard will move her operation to the hedgerow and keep humming. The tune will change with the season. It always does.
