The living story
The story so far
Doors are a structural weakness — that is Purseweb's whole philosophy. She weaves a silk tube up the side of a tree, lives inside the wall itself, and stabs her dinner straight through the fabric of her own home.
Happening now
She is pressed against the inside of her tube right now, feeling the world through silk. An insect just landed on the outside. It does not know the wall is watching. It is about to learn.
What may come
Her tube will weather another winter, patched and re-spun, and she will raise her young inside the safest walls in the forest. They will learn what she knows: the best door is no door at all.
